2023 Lewis Drug Pro/Am Racquetball Tournament

By: Ben Kuhns

Invented in 1950 in Connecticut, racketball is a fast-paced sport that requires little in way of equipment, but lots of stamina.

Since 1980 the Lewis Drug Pro/Am Tournament is the longest-running professional racquetball tournament in the country. It's been bringing together professional and amateur players in Sioux Falls to compete for cash and prizes.

The 43rd Annual Lewis Drug Pro/Am is January 19-22, 2023. Athletes will compete for up to $40,000 in cash and prizes.

The tournament brings together professional and amateur racquetball players from 20 states and 7 countries to compete before local spectators and a worldwide online audience at irttour.com.

“We are extremely excited, honored, and humbled to host this year a field of players second only to the US Open," Tournament Director Mark Gibbs said. "...[I]t’s very exciting for this all to come together on the 43rd year of this amazing tournament. Sioux Falls will be treated to the fastest, most athletic, and exciting sport in the World.”

Thirty of the top pros on the men’s International Racquetball Tour will compete on courts at the Sioux Falls Family YMCA (220 South Minnesota Ave). All matches throughout the weekend are FREE to the general public.

The IRT Pro division will consist of #1 ranked Conrrado Moscoso (Bolivia), 2020 winner Daniel De La Rosa, Alex Landa, Andree Parrilla (Mexico), Eduardo (Lalo) Portillo (Mexico), Jake Bredenbeck (Minnesota), Samuel Murray (Canada), and many more of the best players from around the world.
